I am Young-jin Nam, Chair of the Korea Advertising Review Board (KARB).
I sincerely welcome all of you who have visited our website.
Established in 1991, the Korea Advertising Review Board has worked to institutionalize advertising self-regulation and to support the advancement of the media.
Our organization was founded to foster a healthy advertising culture through the advertising industry’s voluntary and responsible practices.
Today, the advertising industry is facing major shifts at the same time economic uncertainty and market volatility, the expansion of platform-centered distribution, and the transition to AI.
As the industry and its environment change rapidly, advertising review must also evolve beyond past approaches into a system that is faster, more precise, and more field-oriented.
Accordingly, KARB will further strengthen its role as the leading institution for self-regulation.
First, we will advance AI- and data-driven review processes.
By establishing a review system that utilizes image, video, and text analysis, we will enhance both the speed and accuracy of our reviews.
Second, we will expand the scope and expertise of our reviews.
Reflecting the digital environment including influencers and live commerce we will also expand and operate advisory panels in specialized fields such as healthcare, food, and finance, thereby improving professional expertise and practical applicability.
Third, we will broaden industry and public cooperation and international collaboration.
We will pursue customized review agreements tailored to various industries, and strengthen our capacity to respond to global changes through joint research and policy proposals with international advertising self-regulatory organizations.
KARB will do its utmost to protect consumer trust and serve as the cornerstone of self-regulation that supports the sustainable growth of the industry.
